Agri-commodities exports rise 43.4% in April-September: Government

Exports of agri-commodities rose by forty three.four per cent to Rs fifty three,626.six crore in the very first 50 percent of the existing fiscal notwithstanding the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, the Union Agriculture Ministry said on Saturday.

Farm exports stood at Rs 37,397.3 crore all through the April-September period of the 2019-twenty fiscal, it said.

In September 2020, agri exports rose by eighty one.7 per cent to Rs 9,296 crore from Rs 5,114 crore in September 2019.

“The steady and concerted endeavours of the Governing administration to raise agricultural exports are bearing fruit as regardless of of the on-going Covid-19 crisis, the export of critical agri commodities for the cumulative period of April-September, 2020 has elevated by forty three.four per cent to Rs fifty three,626.six crore,” the ministry said in a statement.
